Advisory Board
KenCCID's Advisory Board was created in 2000 in order to involve individuals more (as a group) to come together and discuss their issues and their concerns in a forum that would provide the freedom and comfort to express freely and openly exactly what they want and need, what they like about their homes, their staff, and what they do not like. All of the individuals who reside in KenCCID's Homes are invited to a "workgroup" to discuss what the purpose of the Advisory Board would is, who participates, who could facilitate it, etc. From the first meeting over half of our Individuals have chosen to attend.. Over the years, the members of the Advisory Board have elected which staff they would like to assist during their meetings (usually on a two year term). The primary function of the staff facilitator is to relay all the pertinent information discussed during the Advisory Board meeting to the Executive Director and to the responsible parties. Follow-up is required and is to be reported at the next Advisory Board meeting. The Individual Advisory Board has an open invitation to the monthly Board of Directors meeting, where they can voice the desires of its members.
